"Yona of the Dawn" (Japanese: 暁のヨナ, Hepburn: Akatsuki no Yona) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mizuho Kusanagi. It has been serialized in Hakusensha's shōjo manga magazine Hana to Yume since August 2009. Set in a fictional East Asian fantasy world, notably the kingdom of Kouka, it draws inspiration from Korean and Chinese cultures. The story follows Princess Yona, who is forced to flee after a coup and embarks on a journey to save her country. She, along with her bodyguard Hak and other allies, seeks the legendary Four Dragon Warriors to confront Soo-won, who usurped the throne, and restore her father's kingdom.
The series has been adapted into a 24-episode anime television series by Pierrot, which aired from October 2014 to March 2015. Additionally, three original video animations (OVAs) were bundled with limited editions of the manga. The manga series has also achieved commercial success, with over 15 million copies in circulation as of June 2024.
