咲日和 ANIMATION

Saki Biyori is a spin-off of the Saki manga series presented in a 4-koma (four-panel) format, written and illustrated by Saya Kiyoshi. Focusing on the characters from the Saki series, this manga depicts their funny and heartwarming daily lives in a lighthearted and humorous way. Unlike the intense mahjong matches in the original work, Saki Biyori emphasizes the interactions between characters and their cozy routines, with fewer mahjong elements. The manga was serialized in Young Gangan and Big Gangan magazines from 2011 to 2018 and was compiled into seven volumes. Furthermore, an OVA (Original Video Animation) episode of Saki Biyori was bundled with the special edition of the 14th volume of the Saki manga. The anime continues the lighthearted and humorous style of the manga, showing the main characters' cute daily lives in different scenarios, such as pro players meeting at a family restaurant, team captains preparing for a joint training camp, Ikeda's sisters keeping themselves entertained, the Tsuruga team's unplanned camping trip, and Ryuumonbuchi's celebration of Koromo's birthday. In summary, Saki Biyori complements and expands the Saki universe, offering fans another perspective to understand and enjoy these characters.
