Tokyo Ghoul Root A

Tokyo Ghoul √A (東京喰種√A, Tōkyō Gūru √A) is the second season of the anime series *Tokyo Ghoul*, produced by Studio Pierrot. Unlike the first season, which followed the manga closely, this season features an original story created by manga author Sui Ishida. The series is set in an alternate version of Tokyo where humans coexist with ghouls, creatures that look like humans but survive by eating human flesh. The protagonist, Ken Kaneki, becomes a half-ghoul after a deadly encounter with one. In this season, after being tortured by Yamori (Jason) and accepting his ghoul side, Kaneki joins the radical ghoul organization Aogiri Tree, leading his friends and former comrades to question his true motives and loyalties. As tension rises between humans and ghouls, the government's ghoul-hunting agency, the CCG, intensifies its efforts. The season focuses on Kaneki's struggles with his identity, loyalty, and survival, and his choices between his humanity and his ghoul instincts.
