Battle Spirits Burning Soul (バトルスピリッツ 烈火魂<バーニングソウル>) is a Japanese anime television series produced by Sunrise and aired from April 2015, marking the seventh installment in the Battle Spirits franchise. Set in a fictional "Warring States Era," the story follows the protagonist, Yukimura Rekka, as he strives to unite the land through intense battles with other skilled card battlers. The narrative unfolds with IBSA (Institution for Battle Spirits Administration) introducing a virtual 3D battle system that ignites a nationwide card battle frenzy. Numerous powerful card battlers emerge, all vying for the title of the strongest. Original character designs were created by Kenta Shinohara, the author of SKET Dance, with many characters named after historical figures from the Japanese Warring States period. The opening and ending theme songs are performed by Shuhei Kita, Sayaka Sasaki, and Fo'xTails. The series also has a manga adaptation drawn by Yoshikazu Amami, serialized in Saikyo Jump magazine. The manga presents a slightly different storyline, with Rekka Yukimura battling Toshiie En, who enforces his rule upon the people. This series has garnered popularity among fans for its unique card battling system and the action-packed plot.
