"Ultimate Otaku Teacher" (Japanese: 電波教師, Hepburn: Denpa Kyōshi), also known as "Denpa Kyoushi: He Is an Ultimate Teacher," is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Takeshi Azuma. The story centers on Junichirou Kagami, a genius physicist who becomes a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) and otaku due to his self-diagnosed “YD” disease, which causes him to only do what he “Yearns to Do”. His sister, Suzune, forces him to become a substitute physics teacher at his former high school. Despite his lack of interest in traditional teaching, Junichirou inspires his students with his unique otaku perspectives and methods, helping them navigate life's challenges. The manga was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday from October 2011 to March 2017. It was adapted into a 24-episode anime television series by A-1 Pictures, which aired from April to September 2015. The anime's opening and ending themes were performed by TrySail, Sphere, Tokyo Performance Doll, and 9nine, respectively. Funimation has licensed the series in North America. This is a story about an unconventional teacher who uses his unique perspectives to help his students grow, combining elements of comedy, school life, and inspiration, making it popular among audiences.
