The animation for this season was produced by OLM and Xebec. Set after the events of the first season, the story sees Gao Mikado chosen as a new Buddyfighter to fill the void left by Tasuku Ryuenji, who is away training in the monster world. Simultaneously, illegal monsters known as "Hundred Demons" appear on Earth, with one named Tenbu trying to warn everyone about an impending threat before losing his memory. A mysterious fighter called "Death Shido" begins hunting Tenbu using the Hundred Demons. To combat this threat, the Buddy Police forms a Youth Division, recruiting Gao, Tetsuya, and Zanya Kisaragi. Later, Tenbu reveals the upcoming menace, a terrifying monster named Yamigedo who devours him. To reseal Yamigedo, the eight Omni Lords must be found, with Drum becoming one of them after Tenbu's death. This season continues the high-energy battles of the first, introducing new characters and plotlines while further exploring the world of Buddyfight.
