"Beautiful Bones: Sakurako's Investigation," also known as "A Corpse is Buried Under Sakurako's Feet" (Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru), is a Japanese mystery novel series written by Shiori Ōta and illustrated by Tetsuo. The story revolves around Sakurako Kujō, a young, brilliant osteologist with an unusual obsession for bones, and her high school assistant, Shoutarou Tatewaki. Sakurako's expertise allows her to decipher the stories behind bones, often leading them to solve mysterious cases. Shoutarou meets Sakurako by chance and begins assisting her in her investigations, often stumbling upon corpses wherever they go. The novel series has been published by Kadokawa Shoten since 2013, with multiple volumes released and adaptations into an anime series produced by TROYCA in 2015 and a live-action television drama in 2017.
