"Wakakozake" (ワカコ酒), is a Japanese manga series by Chie Shinkyu. It has been serialized in Tokuma Shoten's seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Zenon since September 2011, and is also available on Web Comic Zenyon. The series follows 26-year-old office worker Wakako Murasaki as she explores various restaurants, bars, and food stalls alone after work, enjoying delicious food and alcoholic beverages. She particularly loves making the satisfying “pshuu” sound when she finds the perfect pairing of food and drink. The work portrays not only Wakako's enjoyment of her solitary moments but also showcases the food culture across Japan. The manga has been adapted into a Japanese TV drama starring Rina Takeda and a short-length anime by Office DCI. The TV drama has six seasons and a special episode. The anime series consists of 12 short episodes, each about 2 minutes long. The series is popular for its light-hearted atmosphere and detailed depiction of food, and is considered a female version of "Kodoku no Gourmet".
