Chaos;Child is a visual novel video game developed by MAGES., the fourth main entry in the Science Adventure series, and a thematic sequel to Chaos;Head. Set in Shibuya in 2015, the story follows Takuru Miyashiro and his friends as they investigate the "Return of the New Generation Madness" serial murder case. Players assume the role of Takuru and make choices using the "Delusion Trigger" system, selecting positive, negative, or no delusions, which influences the narrative and leads to various outcomes. The game features psychological suspense and horror elements and employs an "unmoving" aesthetic. In addition to the main game, Chaos;Child has expanded into an anime series, manga, audio dramas, and other media. While it didn't achieve commercial success, it was critically well-received for its complex plot and themes and spurred the development of titles related to the more popular Steins;Gate series. The gameplay incorporates both the "Delusion Trigger" system and the “Mapping Trigger” puzzle mini-game on the newspaper club’s chalkboard. The story revolves around the concept of Gigalomaniacs, who have the power to bring delusions into reality, and explores complex conspiracies and dark human nature.
