Dies Irae

Dies Irae is originally a Japanese visual novel game developed by Light, first released in 2007. It serves as the main source material for the "Shinza Bansho" series. The story is set in Berlin during the end of World War II, where a mysterious organization called "Longinus Dreizehn Orden" performs an evil ritual using the lives sacrificed in the war. After the war, the organization disappears, but rumors persist about their return in the future. The story then shifts to present-day Japan, where protagonist Ren Fujii is hospitalized after a fight with his friend Shirou. Soon after his release, the Longinus Dreizehn Orden reappears, and the apocalypse descends. Ren is forced to fight them to protect his loved ones. Dies Irae is known for its deep themes, complex characters, and epic plot. It has been adapted into manga, novels, and anime and released across various platforms, with the most complete version being Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~, which includes new plot elements and endings.
