Divine Gate is a Japanese smartphone game developed by Acquire and published by GungHo Online Entertainment, released in 2013 for iOS and Android platforms. The game is known for its unique card collecting and puzzle-based RPG combat system, and has gained popularity for its collaboration events with other well-known IPs, such as Danganronpa. In the game, after the 'Divine Gate' opens, the human world, heavens, and underworld become connected, ushering in an era of chaos where desires and conflicts intersect. To restore order, the World Council is formed, and the Divine Gate becomes an urban legend. The story revolves around a group of boys and girls chosen by the World Council, each with their own objectives, who aim to reach the Divine Gate in hopes of changing the world, and even the past or future. In addition to the game, 'Divine Gate' was also adapted into an anime produced by Studio Pierrot, which aired in 2016. The anime tells a story set in the game's universe, and makes some adaptations, such as Metabon, a guide character from the game, becoming a recurring character in the anime, interacting with the protagonists. Both the game and anime have garnered many fans with their complex world-building, unique character designs, and engaging storylines.
