《Chu Feng: B.E.E-》, also known as School Shock, is a Chinese sci-fi war manhua created by Sun Heng (White Cat Sunny) and later adapted into an anime. Set in 2017, the story revolves around "Vanguards," a new type of weapon widely used in military conflicts. The protagonist, Liuli, is a Vanguard on the verge of retirement. In the last 380 days of her life, she receives a new mission: to rescue hostages. During her mission, she discovers that the hostage-taker is also a former Vanguard. The story unfolds from this point, depicting the battles between Vanguards and the conspiracies surrounding the "Son of Eden". The anime premiered in 2015 and became the first original Chinese animation to be exported to Japan. However, some Japanese viewers commented on its lack of Chinese characteristics and its resemblance to Japanese animation. 《Chu Feng: B.E.E-》 has attracted many viewers with its unique sci-fi setting and exciting action scenes, and has also sparked discussions about the development of the Chinese animation industry.
