Granblue Fantasy: The Animation

Granblue Fantasy: The Animation is a Japanese anime television series adapted from the role-playing video game of the same name developed by Cygames. The first season, produced by A-1 Pictures, aired from April to June 2017, consisting of 12 episodes. The second season, produced by MAPPA, aired from October to December 2019, also with 12 episodes. The anime follows the story of Gran, a young boy, and his winged companion Vyrn, who live on the mysterious island of Zinkenstill. They encounter a girl named Lyria, who is fleeing from the Erste Empire. To escape the Empire, Gran and Lyria embark on a journey into the skies, seeking Estalucia, the "Island of Stars" mentioned in a letter from Gran's father. The anime faithfully recreates the game's world and incorporates original storylines. The music is composed by Nobuo Uematsu, Tsutomu Narita, and Yasunori Nishiki, who also worked on the game. The opening and ending theme songs were performed by well-known artists like BUMP OF CHICKEN, Haruhi, Seven Billion Dots, and adieu. The anime is available on various streaming platforms with Japanese audio and English subtitles, as well as English and German dubs. In addition to the two main seasons, there is a standalone short anime titled Grand Blues! adapted from a 4-panel manga, along with light novels and manga adaptations.
