"Alderamin on the Sky" (Japanese: ねじ巻き精霊戦記 天鏡のアルデラミン), is a Japanese light novel series written by Bokuto Uno and illustrated by Sanbasō (volumes 1-5) and Ryūtetsu (volume 6 onwards). The story is set in a world where the Katjvarna Empire is at war with the neighboring Kioka Republic. The protagonist, Ikta Solork, is a lazy young man who dislikes war and admires women, but is forced to take the High Grade Military Officer Exam due to certain circumstances. Unexpectedly, Ikta survives the war-torn world with his superior intellect and becomes a soldier known as a great commander. The series has been published by ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko imprint since 2012. A manga adaptation by Taiki Kawakami is serialized in Dengeki Daioh magazine, and an anime adaptation produced by Madhouse, directed by Tetsuo Ichimura, premiered in July 2016, airing for 13 episodes. The anime, with scripts by Shogo Yasukawa, depicts Ikta's struggle for survival and his journey alongside his companions. It has been broadcast on multiple platforms.
