奇魂侍

"Kishin Samurai" is an animated work written, scripted, and directed by Koshin Sena, with animation production by Asahi Production. This work is known for its unique visual style and realistic depiction of action scenes, using approximately 10,000 cels in total. In pursuit of realism, action scenes in the animation are drawn based on actual filmed actions, avoiding the use of CG to reproduce human movement. The story follows the blind samurai Haku, who, after losing his parents and his sight, gains the ability to see things that ordinary people cannot. He embarks on a journey in search of a mysterious entity called "Kushimitama", encountering various trials. This animated work has been selected for several international film festivals and won the Yamagata Governor's Award at the 10th Yamagata International Movie Festival. Besides its excellent production, "Kishin Samurai" also boasts a luxurious voice cast, including Koshin Sena (Haku), Aya Hirano (Hi-iro), Kosuke Toriumi (Yami), Koichi Yamadera (Zanji), and Akira Ishida (Ouka). The animation's color also changes with the development of the story, transitioning from the initial monochrome to a colorful world, realistically depicting Japanese natural landscapes and traditional architecture, and showcasing the theme of "human life and existence."
