Fate/EXTRA Last Encore

Fate/EXTRA Last Encore is a Japanese anime series produced by Shaft, directed by Yukihiro Miyamoto and Akiyuki Shinbo. It is based on the 2010 PlayStation Portable game Fate/EXTRA. The anime aired in Japan from January 28 to July 29, 2018, consisting of 13 episodes, including a 10-episode main story and 3 special episodes. The story is set in a parallel universe to Fate/stay night, where magical energy has declined and modern mages use magic in the virtual space of a supercomputer called the “Moon Cell.” The protagonist, Hakuno Kishinami, awakens with amnesia and is forced to participate in a Holy Grail War to have a wish granted. He is partnered with a Servant named Saber, and together they fight to reach the core of the Moon Cell. The anime's plot differs from the game, offering viewers a new story experience and exploring themes of human existence, memory loss, and finding oneself in a virtual world. The series was released worldwide on Netflix and offers dubbed and subtitled versions in multiple languages.
