Kemono Friends

Kemono Friends (けものフレンズ), also known as Beast Friends, is a Japanese multimedia franchise created by manga artist Mine Yoshizaki. It began as a mobile game developed by Nexon, launched in March 2015 and shut down in December 2016. While the initial game received a lukewarm reception, the franchise experienced a surge in popularity with its anime adaptation. The first season, produced by Yaoyorozu in 2017, became a cultural phenomenon, depicting anthropomorphic animal girls called 'Friends' living in Japari Park, a fictional zoo. These Friends battle mysterious creatures known as 'Celliens' and explore the park's secrets. The franchise has since expanded to include music, stage plays, virtual YouTubers (VTubers), and multiple mobile games like Kemono Friends 3. The series is known for its cute characters and worldbuilding, and its encouragement of fan-made content, leading to a large and active fanbase.
