"Seven Mortal Sins," also known as "sin Nanatsu no Taizai," is a cross-media project by Hobby Japan, primarily featuring fantasy figures based on the Seven Deadly Sins. It was adapted into a 12-episode anime television series by Artland and TNK, which aired from April 14 to July 29, 2017. The anime tells the story of Lucifer, an archangel banished from Heaven for rebelling against God, who falls into Hell. There, she meets Leviathan, the aspiring demon lord of envy, and Maria Totsuka, a high school girl she encounters on Earth, embarking on a journey of revenge against the Seven Demon Lords of Hell. Lucifer, defeated and sealed by the Seven Demon Lords, seeks vengeance and travels with Leviathan and Maria to defeat them one by one and break the seal. A spin-off anime called "Seven Heavenly Virtues" focuses on seven angels descending to Earth to find a Messiah. A mobile game adaptation called "Seven Mortal Sins X-TASY" followed, taking place after the anime storyline, but it officially shut down on December 18, 2024.
