CARDFIGHT!! ヴァンガードG NEXT

"Cardfight!! Vanguard G: NEXT" is the fourth season of the "Cardfight!! Vanguard G" series and the eighth overall in the "Cardfight!! Vanguard" anime franchise. The story is set five months after the events of "Cardfight!! Vanguard G: Stride Gate," with the main characters, Chrono Shindou, Shion Kiba, and Tokoha Anjou, having gone their separate ways by enrolling in different high schools. They form new teams to participate in the Vanguard U20 Championship. Chrono teams up with Taiyou Asukawa and Kazuma Shouji, Shion teams up with Henry Hayao and Rin Hashima, and Tokoha teams up with Satoru Enishi and Kumi Okazaki. However, the reigning U20 Champion and his team are under the control of units from Cray, who aim to use the championship to sever the link between Earth and Cray. To protect the future of Vanguard, Chrono, Shion, and Tokoha's new teams must both work together and compete against each other. The season's central conflict revolves around these new teams confronting the Cray threat and their complex relationships. The series aired in Japan from October 2, 2016, to October 1, 2017.
