"The Royal Tutor" (Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Higasa Akai. It began serialization in Square Enix's Monthly GFantasy magazine in November 2013 and concluded in May 2021. The story follows Heine Wittgenstein, a man who appears childlike, as he is summoned to the kingdom of Glanzreich to become the royal tutor to four princes: Kai, Bruno, Leonhard, and Licht. These princes possess distinct personalities that have caused previous tutors to resign, and Heine's task is to mold them into capable candidates for the throne. The series humorously depicts Heine's interactions with the princes and how he helps them overcome their individual flaws to become better leaders. The manga has been licensed by Yen Press for digital English distribution. An anime adaptation by Bridge aired from April to June 2017. Furthermore, the series has inspired stage plays and a film, expanding its reach.
