"Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato" is a 2019 Japanese anime film and a sequel to the TV anime series "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress," set six months after the events of the series. The movie follows Ikoma and his companions as they join forces with local residents to reclaim Unato from the Kabane. They arrive in the ravaged Unato, noticing peculiar attack patterns of the Kabane, which seem to be controlled. During their investigation, they discover secret underground tunnels in Unato and encounter powerful Kabane. To stop the Kabane threat, Ikoma and Mumei engage in fierce battles with the mastermind controlling the Kabane. The film also reveals new Kabane types and a more complex storyline, as well as the deeper emotional bonds between the characters. Directed by Tetsuro Araki and produced by WIT STUDIO, the film continues the series' tradition of intense battle scenes and profound character development.
