Sanrio Boys (サンリオ男子, Sanrio Danshi) is a Japanese media franchise created by Sanrio in November 2015. It started as a social media project to promote Sanrio's best-selling characters but grew into a franchise with its own merchandise line, manga series, character drama CDs, a smartphone game released in 2016 for iOS and Android, and an anime television series by Pierrot that aired from January to March 2018. The story centers around a group of high school boys who love Sanrio characters, including Kōta Hasegawa (Pompompurin), Yū Mizuno (My Melody), Shunsuke Yoshino (Hello Kitty), Ryō Nishinomiya (Little Twin Stars), and Seiichirō Minamoto (Cinnamoroll). Through their friendships, they overcome their shyness about liking cute characters and work together to make their ordinary school lives sparkle. The franchise spans various media formats like anime, manga, games, and stage plays, and has a wide array of merchandise.
