DUEL MASTERS (2017)

Duel Masters (2017) is the 13th season of the Duel Masters anime, marking the series' 15th anniversary. This season centers around a new story and characters, initiating the journey of a new generation duelist, Joe Kirifuda. The story takes place 14 years after Katta Kirifuda and Team Hamukatsu's victory against Dormageddon X, the Forbidden Armageddon, and two years after Katta's departure to the creature world with Katsudon. In Joe's dueling era, a special system in the Duel Masters Club building generates holographic images of creatures and spell effects, creating a virtual reality in duels. The series maintains a slightly darker tone compared to previous installments, with serious scenes remaining completely serious, and warnings of impending evil events at the end of each episode. The new card type called "Jokers," which do not belong to any civilization, are introduced. The series aims to provide a refreshing starting point for both old fans and new viewers. Duel Masters (2017) emphasizes the journey of the new era duelist, Joe Kirifuda, who will take on the responsibility of maintaining the balance between the human and creature worlds. The anime retains classic elements from previous works while injecting new energy, making it an important part of the overall series.
