Killing Bites

Killing Bites (Japanese: キリングバイツ) is a Japanese manga series written by Shinya Murata and illustrated by Kazuasa Sumita. It has been serialized in Hero's Inc.'s seinen manga magazine Monthly Hero's since November 2013, later moving to the web platform Comiplex. The series is set in a world where humans can transform into animal-human hybrids called "Therianthropes", who engage in brutal battles known as "Killing Bites" for their respective zaibatsu (business conglomerates). The story follows college student Yuuya Nomoto, who becomes involved in a kidnapping and witnesses high school girl Hitomi Uzaki transform into a honey badger Therianthrope, killing his companions. Hitomi is assigned to protect Yuuya, who becomes her investor for the Killing Bites. The manga has also been adapted into a 12-episode anime series produced by Liden Films, which aired from January to March 2018. The story blends action, science fiction, and fantasy, revolving around bloody battles, complex political intrigue, and power struggles between the zaibatsu.
