SSSS.Gridman

SSSS.Gridman is a Japanese anime television series co-produced by Tsuburaya Productions and Trigger, and is the first installment in the shared "Gridman Universe" media. It is an adaptation of the 1993-1994 tokusatsu series Denkou Choujin Gridman. The story follows Yuta Hibiki, an amnesiac high school student who encounters Hyper Agent Gridman in an old computer, who tells him he has a mission to fulfill. With the emergence of kaiju, Yuta merges with Gridman to fight them. However, people's memories are reset after each kaiju attack, and those who die are forgotten. Yuta and his friends form the "Gridman Alliance" to stop the kaiju and uncover the truth, with the help of mysterious friends who can transform into weapons for Gridman. The anime aired for 12 episodes from October to December 2018. A sequel, SSSS.Dynazenon, and a film, Gridman Universe, were later released. SSSS.Gridman is a tribute to the original tokusatsu series, but features a new storyline, focusing on the relationship between Japanese youth and technology.
