The Ryuo`s Work Is Never Done!

"The Ryuo's Work is Never Done!" (Japanese: りゅうおうのおしごと!) is a Japanese light novel series written by Shirow Shiratori and illustrated by Shirabii. The story centers around Yaichi Kuzuryuu, who becomes the youngest ever Ryuo (Dragon King) at the age of 16 in the world of shogi, and Ai Hinatsuru, a 9-year-old elementary school girl who asks him to be her shogi master. Their journey follows them as they strive to improve in the world of shogi, along with their friends and rivals. A condition imposed by Ai's mother adds a twist: if Ai doesn't become a major shogi player by the time she graduates middle school, Yaichi must marry her. The series, which began publication in 2015 by SB Creative, has also been adapted into manga and a 12-episode anime series aired in 2018. The light novel series is complete with 19 volumes. It's known for its detailed depiction of the shogi world, its amusing characters, and its lighthearted tone, and it has also garnered attention for drawing inspiration from real shogi players. The series successfully blends traditional shogi culture with a modern light novel narrative.
