Persona 5 the Animation

Persona 5 the Animation, stylized as PERSONA5 the Animation, is an anime television series produced by CloverWorks, adapting the video game Persona 5 by Atlus. The series is directed by Masashi Ishihama and written by Shinichi Inotsume, with character designs adapted by Tomomi Ishikawa from Shigenori Soejima's originals. It aired in Japan from April to September 2018, with 26 episodes, followed by four special episodes. The anime follows high schooler Ren Amamiya (code-named Joker) as he leads the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, using a mysterious app called the Metaverse Navigator to reform the hearts of corrupted adults in Shibuya. The anime largely stays true to the game's plot, with the original game's music composer Shoji Meguro and vocalist Lyn contributing to the soundtrack. The anime received mixed reviews, but was praised for its faithful depiction of the characters and the game's world. It also includes OVA specials and extra episodes that further develop the story and its characters.
