Wake Up, Girl ZOO! Miyagi PR de GO! is a spin-off animation of Wake Up, Girls!, produced by Studio Moriken. Released in 2016, its main purpose is to promote tourism in Miyagi Prefecture through a collaboration, serving as part of the prefecture's revitalization plan. The plot transforms the idols from Wake Up, Girls! into mini-animal characters who reside in a small zoo called "Wake Up, Girl ZOO!" located on the outskirts of Sendai and facing closure. To revive the zoo, director Tange orders zookeeper Matsuda to find a new animal unit. The story revolves around the hilarious efforts of these seven animals to revitalize the zoo. The animation is aired in short episodes with a light and fast-paced rhythm, featuring humor and self-deprecating elements, and is loved by fans. The opening theme song is "WUG Zoo Zoo". "Miyagi PR de GO!" is a special edition of this spin-off animation created specifically to promote Miyagi Prefecture.
