秦时明月 特别篇: 空山鸟语

"Qin's Moon Special: Empty Mountain Bird Song" is a special episode of the "Qin's Moon" series and a prequel to the "Nine Songs of the Moving Heavens" series, focusing on the story of young Bai Feng before he joined the organization "Quicksand". Directed by Shen Leping, the animation premiered on Youku on May 1, 2014, with a total of 6 episodes (some sources say 3, but it's actually 6). The plot centers on the story of Bai Feng and new characters Mo Ya and Nong Yu, revealing Bai Feng's unknown past. Bai Feng often feels sentimental after completing missions because he controls the fate of others but cannot control his own. Mo Ya believes that to control one's destiny, one must have enough speed. In the story, Bai Feng loses a competition and is taken by Mo Ya to see Ji Wuye's new prey, Nong Yu, a woman skilled in playing the zither. Bai Feng gives Nong Yu a zither, and she plays the melody "Empty Mountain Bird Song", which leads to Bai Feng being targeted for assassination. The special's theme song is "Moonlight" by Hu Yanbin, and the ending theme is "Too Late to Dream" by Dong Zhen. Additionally, an official novel adaptation of the animation's story, "Nine Songs of the Moving Heavens·Empty Mountain Bird Song", was also released.
