Cutie Honey Universe

Cutie Honey Universe is a 2018 Japanese anime television series produced by Production Reed. It is the fifth animated project based on Go Nagai's Cutie Honey manga franchise, created to celebrate the author's 50th anniversary as a manga artist. The series follows Honey Kisaragi, an amazingly human-like and fashion-conscious android with the unique ability to transform her body into a wide range of outrageous yet stylish disguises, each with its own dazzling superpower. After a run-in with the sinister criminal organization Panther Claw, Honey makes it her mission to bring them down. Honey utilizes her 'Airborne Element Fixing Device' to transform, with her most well-known transformation being Cutie Honey, a red-suited sword-wielding warrior. Besides Cutie Honey, she can transform into other forms such as Hurricane Honey, who pilots vehicles; Misty Honey, who has a microphone and an adoring crowd; and Flash Honey, who is equipped with a camera. The series retains classic elements from the Cutie Honey franchise while incorporating new aspects, such as highlighting yuri undertones. Though the animation and story have faced some criticism, it serves as another modern take on Go Nagai’s classic work.
