Music Girls

Music Girls (音楽少女, Ongaku Shōjo) is a Japanese anime series produced by Studio Deen that aired in 2018. The series originated from a short film created by Studio Deen for the Young Animator Training Project's Anime Mirai 2015. The story centers around a fictional idol unit called “Music Girls,” who are a struggling C-list group. Their manager, Ikehashi, tries to turn their fortunes around by recruiting a new member. Ultimately, they meet Hanako Yamadagi, who returns from the United States. While Hanako is not skilled at singing, her passion for idols and dance ability leads her to become the group's behind-the-scenes support, serving as their manager. The 12-episode anime series aired from July 6 to September 21, 2018. The opening theme is "Eien Shonen" by Yui Ogura, and the ending theme is "Shining Peace" performed by the show's cast as Music Girls. The plot blends the themes of dreams, friendship, and growth as it follows the girls’ journey in striving to achieve their idol ambitions.
