The Thousand Musketeers

The Thousand Musketeers (Senjūshi) is a Japanese smartphone game developed by Line Games and Marvelous Entertainment, released in March 2018. Players collect and battle with anthropomorphized guns. The game is set in a post-nuclear war world where an empire rules and people's freedoms are taken away. A resistance secretly fights using antique guns considered as works of art. The incarnations of these guns, the "Noble Musketeers," appear and join the resistance, bringing hope to the world. The franchise also includes an anime adaptation by TMS Entertainment that premiered in July 2018. The original game's support ended in October 2019, but a sequel, Senjūshi: Rhodoknight, was released in November 2021, taking place seven years after the original. Players take on the role of a military school cadet who can summon antique and modern guns, balancing between “Absolute Nobility” and “Absolute Ruthlessness” as they strive to rebuild the world amidst new mysterious threats. The series is known for its personified gun characters and unique setting.
