The first season aired from April to December 2018, while the second season aired from October to December 2018, consisting of 13 episodes. The story continues the comedic style of the first season, following Subaru Ichinose, a pilot on the Space Battleship Tiramisu, as he navigates various bizarre daily life situations in space. He still prefers to stay in his fighter cockpit to avoid contact with others and continues his hilarious adventures. The anime is known for its unique humor, exaggerated performances, and parody of space themes. It includes more original storylines and character interactions than the original manga, offering a richer viewing experience. "Space Battleship Tiramisu Zwei" retains the same production team as the previous season, produced by Gonzo, with Kaito Ishikawa performing the opening and ending theme songs. The series has also been adapted into stage plays both in Japan and overseas, demonstrating its widespread popularity.
