Namuamidabutsu! Utena

Namu Amida Butsu!: Rendai Utena is a Japanese manga series centered around Buddhist deities. The story is set in a decadent age where humanity faces the suffering of birth, aging, sickness, and death. To save sentient beings, Shaka Nyorai, who was once a prince, attained Buddhist enlightenment and saved the world. However, Mara, seeking revenge against Shaka, makes a pact with the devil and begins to control people's worries. A team of thirteen Buddhas and the two benevolent deities Taishakuten and Bonten have risen up to fight against Mara and protect humanity. This manga, drawn by Yuki, Amino, was serialized in Comic Gene from July 15, 2016, to March 15, 2017, with a total of 2 volumes and 11 chapters. It blends comedy, fantasy, and strategy game elements. Despite a low score and few reviews on MyAnimeList, the series has been adapted into a TV anime. The core of 'Namu Amida Butsu!' revolves around Buddhist teachings and the salvation from human suffering. It combines Buddhist deities with modern-day problems in a lighthearted and humorous way, allowing viewers to enjoy the entertainment while also gaining some understanding of Buddhist wisdom and philosophy.
