Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story (Japanese: マギアレコード 魔法少女まどか☆マギカ外伝, Magia Rekōdo: Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magika Gaiden) is a Japanese role-playing video game developed by f4samurai and published by Aniplex, released in Japan on August 22, 2017. The game is a spin-off of the 2011 anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica, following a new protagonist, Iroha Tamaki, who arrives in Kamihama City in search of her missing sister. The game's servers were closed on July 31, 2024, to be replaced by a 3D gacha game, Magia Exedra. It has been adapted into manga, a stage play, and an anime television series. The anime, produced by Shaft, aired for three seasons from 2020 to 2022. The story of Magia Record is set in Kamihama City, a place where magical girls can be 'saved'. Iroha Tamaki explores her wish as a magical girl and searches for her missing sister in this city. It introduces new characters and original storylines, delving into the relationships, fates, and struggles of magical girls, while skillfully connecting with the world of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The game also introduced the "Doppel" system, which allows magical girls to temporarily use witch-like powers, enriching combat and providing more possibilities for the plot.
