The Invasion of Awakening

"The Invasion of Awakening" (末世觉醒之入侵) is the first season of the "Moshi Juexing" anime series, representing China's first original 3D animation series with a modern war post-apocalyptic sci-fi theme. The series comprises 13 episodes, each approximately 15 minutes long, and is a joint production by Tencent Penguin Pictures, Beijing Sky Color Culture Media Co., Ltd., and Starry Entertainment. It premiered on Tencent Video on May 24, 2018. Set in a future high-tech era, Earth is governed by an artificial intelligence from a company called D.S (Damocles' Sword), while humanity faces the threat of zombie infection. A few survivors struggle to survive in this apocalyptic world, fighting for scarce resources. Protagonists Ma San, He Ming, Luo Ning, Ling, and Xiao Hai embark on a path of resistance for survival, but unexpectedly get drawn into internal human conflicts over interests. The storyline revolves around the struggle for energy, highlighting racial conflicts of interest and presenting a realistic dystopian picture. The animation explores the essence of human nature in an apocalyptic environment, attracting a large audience with its unique 3D animation style and sci-fi settings. By May 31, 2018, the series had surpassed 100 million views on Tencent Video. In terms of narrative, "The Invasion of Awakening" is a prequel to "Moshi Juexing: Suyuan", laying the groundwork for future stories.
