Demon Lord, Retry!

Demon Lord, Retry! (魔王様、リトライ!, Maō-sama, Ritorai!) is a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Kurone Kanzaki. The story follows Akira Oono, a game developer who gets transported into the world of his own MMORPG, Infinity Game, upon the game's server shutdown. He finds himself in the body of his in-game character, the Demon Lord Hakuto Kunai. In this new world, he encounters an injured girl named Aku, and they embark on a journey together. Due to his powerful Demon Lord persona, various nations and holy maidens attempt to subdue him, creating chaos wherever he goes. The series began as a web novel in 2016 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō and Hameln, later being published by Futabasha, and has since received manga and anime adaptations. The first anime season was produced by Ekachi Epilka in 2019, and the second season, Demon Lord, Retry! R, was produced by Gekkō in 2024. The story is characterized by the protagonist's misunderstandings and gap moe, combining isekai adventure, comedy, and fantasy elements, which have earned it considerable popularity. The franchise includes light novels, manga, anime, and related merchandise. The protagonist, Hakuto Kunai, is extremely powerful but retains the mindset of an ordinary person, resulting in many humorous situations.
