"Nine Songs of the Moving Heavens" is a Chinese animated CG TV series that was released on March 10, 2016. Produced by Robin Shen and directed by Chen Qianyuan, this series is a prequel to "The Legend of Qin," set before the Qin Dynasty. Despite overlaps in characters and timelines, "Nine Songs of the Moving Heavens" stands as an independent story, focusing on the Ninth Prince of Han, Han Fei, and the creation of the Quicksand group.
The story unfolds during the Warring States period, with the Han State, the weakest of the Seven States, facing threats from the powerful Qin State and internal power struggles due to the aging Han King. The greatest internal threat is the Great General of Han, Ji Wuye, and his "Nightfall" organization, specializing in military, finance, politics, and espionage. Han Fei aspires to build a stronger Han State to address internal issues and withstand Qin's pressure. He forms Quicksand with Wei Zhuang, Zhang Liang, Zinü, and Nong Yu to pursue his goals and combat opposing forces.
The series features various characters, including Han Fei's allies and adversaries from factions like Nightfall and Net Trap. Among them is Yan Lingji, a woman from Baiyue with the ability to manipulate fire, and a painful past. She was once imprisoned but later joined forces with Wushuang Gui and a mysterious Baiyue organization, becoming involved in significant events.
