Fire Force

Fire Force (Japanese: 炎炎ノ消防隊, En'en no Shōbōtai) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Atsushi Ohkubo. Set in Tokyo in the Solar Era year 198, the story follows the Special Fire Force as they combat the phenomenon of spontaneous human combustion, which turns people into fiery monsters known as "Infernals." Besides the first-generation Infernals, there are second and third-generation pyrokinetics with flame manipulation abilities. The protagonist, Shinra Kusakabe, a third-generation pyrokinetic, joins Special Fire Force Company 8, dedicated to fighting Infernals and uncovering the truth behind the mysterious fire that killed his family 12 years prior. The manga was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from September 2015 to February 2022, totaling 34 volumes. An anime television series adaptation produced by David Production aired its first season from July to December 2019 and the second from July to December 2020. A third and final season split into two parts is set to premiere in April 2025 and January 2026. The world of Fire Force is connected to Ohkubo's other manga, Soul Eater, with a revealed link between the two series in the later part of the story.
