ルパン三世 グッバイ・パートナー

"Lupin the 3rd: Goodbye Partner" is the 26th TV special in the "Lupin the 3rd" anime series, broadcast on January 25, 2019, on Nippon TV's "Friday Road SHOW!" This work marks the first completely new original story in six years since the 2013 TV special "Lupin the 3rd: Princess of the Breeze ~The Hidden Sky City~." The story revolves around the betrayal of Daisuke Jigen, Lupin's most trusted partner, and depicts how Lupin uncovers the truth and ultimately reconciles with Jigen. In this installment, Lupin wears a black jacket for the first time in the anime, Jigen dons a dark green suit, and Fujiko Mine appears with a more modern image and straight hairstyle. The plot not only involves Jigen's betrayal but also a confrontation with the politician Roy, who uses the AI "Emilka" to threaten the world. This film also became the last "Lupin the 3rd" animation work made during the lifetime of original author Monkey Punch, who passed away shortly after its release. While it achieved the lowest viewership ratings among new specials in the series, it was still praised by fans for its engaging plot and profound character portrayals.
