DUEL MASTERS!!

Duel Masters is a multimedia franchise encompassing manga, anime, and a trading card game. The series revolves around a card game where players battle using creature and spell cards. Initially drawing inspiration from Magic: The Gathering, it has since developed its own unique mechanics and characteristics. Key differences include that all cards can act as mana sources, creatures must have the 'blocker' ability to defend against attacks, and creatures have only one power statistic. Players win by breaking the opponent's 'shields' rather than life points. The franchise features a rich cast of characters and storylines, centering around Shobu Kirifuda's journey to become the greatest Duel Master. In addition to the card game, there are anime, manga, and other spin-offs that enrich the series' cultural impact. While the English-language card game has been discontinued, it remains one of the most popular trading card games in Japan.
