SUPER SHIRO

Super Shiro is a spin-off anime series from the Crayon Shin-chan franchise, produced by Science SARU. The story revolves around Shiro, the Nohara family's pet dog, who appears to be an ordinary canine. However, when Earth is threatened, he secretly transforms into a superhero, taking on the mission to protect the planet. The series consists of 48 episodes, each with a 5-minute runtime. Shiro's mission is to find the legendary "Bobobobobone," a bone said to grant its owner the power to rule the world. The antagonist, Dekapoo (Deca in the English dub), also seeks this bone, aiming to use its power to become World President. Shiro's quest is filled with challenges and allies, including Bibo, an alien stationed at Super Hero Space Headquarters. The series draws inspiration from classic cartoons like Tom and Jerry, employing slapstick comedy and a "dog's-eye view." The production team includes veterans of the Crayon Shin-chan series, and features prominent voice actors. The show aired in Japan on streaming platforms such as AbemaTV and Telasa from October 2019 to September 2020, and was later broadcast on international channels like Cartoon Network. It has also spawned manga adaptations, merchandise, and a game.
