Bem

Bem is the main protagonist and leader of the YOUKAI-NINGEN trio in the *Humanoid Monster Bem* franchise. He is calm, intellectual, and presents a gentleman-like demeanor while fighting. He maintains the trio's cohesion, such as restraining Bela from being over-emotional and acting as a father figure to Belo. In the 2019 anime series, Bem continues as the leader, pursuing his own sense of justice. He believes that by defeating evil and saving humans, he can someday become a human. He assesses situations precisely and always prioritizes the safety of humans. Though he appears quiet, expressionless, and cold-hearted, he is the toughest and most intelligent of the trio, regarding Bela and Belo as his family. Beyond the anime series, Bem's story has been adapted into live-action films. Additionally, BEM is also the name of the 2019 anime series, which is a remake of the 1968 original *Humanoid Monster Bem*. This series depicts Bem, Bela, and Belo protecting humans in the city of Libra, hoping to become human themselves. Funimation Entertainment produced an English dub of the series. Furthermore, Bem also refers to the acronym of a company named visionE, which operates a portal named voylt providing information about electric mobility.
