"Baja's Studio: Baja Sees the Sea" is an original short anime produced by Kyoto Animation, and a sequel to "Baja's Studio." The story follows Baja, a hamster-like creature living in the KOHATA Animation Studio, and his friend Ga-chan, as they become curious about the sea after overhearing director Kanako talking about it. The studio becomes magical at night, and the question is whether Baja and Ga-chan will be able to see the sea. The film continues the cute and heartwarming style of the previous work, while also delving into the relationships between characters, especially the interactions between Coco and Gie, and the deep friendship between Baja and Ga-chan. Set against the backdrop of the sea, the anime expresses that their bond remains unbreakable even when facing the vast and deep ocean. The film was released in May 2020 and broadcast on NHK General TV in July of the same year. The animation was directed and written by Ichiro Miyoshi, with character designs by Tadao Fumio, and produced by Kyoto Animation.
