Lupin III: The First

Lupin III: The First is a 2019 Japanese 3D animated film written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki. It is the first fully computer-animated film in the Lupin III franchise, produced by TMS Entertainment and Marza Animation Planet. Set in the late Showa era, the film follows Arsène Lupin III and his crew as they travel to Paris and Brazil in search of the Bresson Diary, a treasure that even his grandfather, Arsène Lupin I, failed to steal. They compete with a group of Nazi treasure hunters to decipher the diary's secrets, which are said to lead to enormous riches. The film received critical acclaim for its plot, voice performances, faithfulness to the source material, and particularly for its animation, with many feeling the series transitioned well into CGI, praising its detail and fluidity. The voice cast includes Kanichi Kurita, Kiyoshi Kobayashi, Daisuke Namikawa, Miyuki Sawashiro, and Kōichi Yamadera as Lupin, Jigen, Goemon, Fujiko, and Zenigata, respectively.
