西行纪之集结篇

"Journey to the West: The Assembled Chapter" is a Chinese animated series adapted from the namesake comic, directed by Zhong Zhixing and Mai Zhengle, with Zheng Jianhe, Yang Yi, and Zhang Chunfeng as screenwriters. It premiered on Tencent Video on September 11, 2019, with a total of 22 episodes. As the second season of the "Journey to the West" animation, "The Assembled Chapter" continues the storyline of the first season. It tells the story of Tang Sanzang and his disciples who, after delivering the scripture to Heaven sixteen years ago, reassemble as the Westward Journey team for the sake of justice and embark on a new journey to 'return the scripture'. The plot includes adventures such as the group encountering hundreds of resentments, entering the underworld, and traversing the Yellow Springs, as well as encountering classic monsters like the Bull Demon King and the White Bone Spirit. The animation has many highlights in terms of story content and production effects, retaining the essence of the original comic while improving and upgrading the animation form, such as gorgeous special effects and fight scenes. The battle scene in the Flowing Sand River, in particular, incorporates a large number of particle effects, aiming to recreate the effect of wind and sand. The voice actors include Shen Dawei (Bai Lang), Fan Junhang (Sun Wukong), and Xiao Xin (Ao Yilong). "Journey to the West: The Assembled Chapter" has seen a significant increase in viewership on Tencent Video, with a large number of related UGC works produced on short-form video platforms, indicating its popularity.
