Date A Bullet: Dead or Bullet & Nightmare or Queen

"Date A Bullet: Dead or Bullet" and "Date A Bullet: Nightmare or Queen" are spin-off anime films from the "Date A Live" series, adapted from the light novel series "Date A Live Fragment: Date A Bullet". The story centers around Kurumi Tokisaki and her adventures in the alternate world known as the "Neighboring World". In "Dead or Bullet", Kurumi awakens in the Neighboring World, encounters an amnesiac girl named "Empty", and becomes involved in a death game among quasi-Spirits. They are forced to fight each other for their respective wishes. "Nightmare or Queen" continues the story, with Kurumi meeting numerous quasi-Spirit girls in the Neighboring World. At the same time, a mysterious "White Queen" with a connection to Kurumi's past appears before them. Both films were produced by Geek Toys and supervised by Koushi Tachibana, and were released in 2020. This spin-off not only showcases a different side of Kurumi than the main series but also reveals more about the Neighboring World and quasi-Spirits. In addition to the battles, the story weaves in complex relationships and inner struggles between characters, making the story more captivating. Both films feature original storylines, not direct adaptations from the novels, offering a fresh experience to the audience.
