Kakushigoto

Kakushigoto (かくしごと), also known as "My Dad's Secret Ambition," is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kōji Kumeta. It was serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine from December 2015 to July 2020, and collected into 12 tankōbon volumes. The story centers on Kakushi Gotou, a single father and manga artist who draws ecchi manga. He goes to great lengths to hide his profession from his young daughter, Hime, including disguising his workplace as a normal office and wearing a suit to work. The manga is known for its unique blend of humor and touching father-daughter moments. A 12-episode anime television series adaptation by Ajia-do Animation Works aired in 2020. The first episode shows Hime receiving a key to her father's work study at age 18, where she discovers the truth about his job. The anime remains largely faithful to the manga, while adding some original elements to enhance the story’s drama and emotional depth. A compilation anime film premiered in 2021, expanding the storyline even further. Overall, Kakushigoto is a heartwarming and humorous story exploring themes of family, secrets, and identity.
