我开动物园那些年

"Those Years I Opened a Zoo" is an animation adapted from the web novel of the same name, co-produced by Bilibili and Haoliners Animation League, and aired in 2020. The original novel was written by the author "Marshmallow Bunny" in 2017. It is a slice-of-life comedy with fantasy elements, revolving around a zoo and its animals. The story follows Duan Jiaze, a poor graduate who inherits a private zoo. After signing a contract, he welcomes "animals" like Luya, Daji, Bai Suzhen, and a black bear. From then on, he worries about customer traffic and implements a classification system, banning those under 21 from visiting Luya. Meanwhile, demons, ghosts, and monks from the previous era also begin to stir. Years later, Duan Jiaze and Luya have a dialogue at an annual meeting, revealing Luya's millennia-long wanderings and his experience becoming a zoo animal. The first season of the animation has 13 episodes. This work is beloved by many viewers for its unique setting and interesting plot.
