Re꞉STARS

Re:STARS is an anime adaptation of the Chinese manga "Jintian Kaishi Zuo Mingxing" (Today, I Start Being a Star). The story revolves around Qin Ze, a college student with a childhood trauma that prevents him from singing in public. However, his life takes a turn when his twin sister, Qin Ya, a popular idol, asks him to impersonate her on stage. This sets off a series of events involving mistaken identities and youthful idol comedy. Initially a manhua series on iQIYI in 2015, it garnered over 5.2 billion views before becoming an animated series in mainland China in 2019. A Japanese dubbed version aired on BS Nippon TV in Japan in 2023, and a theatrical film titled "Re:STARS ~Mirai he Tsunagu Futatsu no Kiraboshi~" was released in summer 2023. Re:STARS has gained popularity for its lighthearted plot and cross-dressing themes.
